Why Nigeria-first, not global-first

One person picked out and highlighted among a crowd of passersby

It would be easy to describe PrimeEx as "a platform for holding, sending, and converting money" and leave the geography vague, vague scales better in a pitch. We've chosen not to. PrimeEx is being built Nigeria-first, on purpose, and support for other countries isn't established yet.

Identity has to mean something specific

"Verify the user's identity" isn't one universal feature, it's a different integration in every market, tied to whatever real identity infrastructure that market actually has. In Nigeria, that means a BVN (Bank Verification Number) check, a government-issued document, and a liveness (selfie) check, all required before an account can send or receive money.

Building "generic KYC" that theoretically supports anywhere tends to actually support nowhere well, it either bolts on a one-size-fits-all document checklist that doesn't map to what any specific regulator wants, or it quietly assumes an identity system (a national ID API, a credit bureau, a phone-based KYC utility) that only exists in one country and calls it a global default.

One set of rails, understood completely

The same logic applies to money movement. A transfer isn't just "send amount X to account Y", it's a specific set of rails, specific settlement timing, specific failure modes, specific fraud patterns. Committing to Nigeria first means we can build against real, well-understood behavior instead of an abstraction that has to be wrong about at least one market by definition.

It also means the honest parts of this platform stay honest. When a page on this site says a status is "created, processing, successful, or failed" and means the ledger's own record, not an optimistic animation, that claim is only as good as our understanding of how the underlying rail actually behaves. Understanding one market's rails completely is what makes that claim true. Understanding five markets' rails vaguely would make it a guess dressed up as a guarantee.

Depth first, breadth later

None of this means PrimeEx stays Nigeria-only forever, it means expansion, when it happens, follows the same rule everything else on this platform follows: build it for real, test it adversarially, and say so honestly once it's true. Not before.
